More Showers & Storms Today

As a cool front slowly sags southward, look for more scattered showers and storms today continuing into this evening. Today will not be as warm as yesterday. By Monday dry weather will return. This front will then return north as a warm front and it may bring scattered showers or thundershowers back to parts of the area later Tuesday.

Some Rain This Weekend

With a mixture of clouds and sun, it  will be, breezy, warm and muggy today with temperatures in the 80's. As a cool front heads south, look for scattered Showers and Storms to develop later in the day. They will continue into the evening. Some of these storms may become strong. Scattered Showers may stick around for Sunday.  The front will move south of our area bringing us a dry day Monday. Then the front will return north as a warm front bringing scattered showers back into the area once again by Tuesday.

Slight Risk For Severe Storms Saturday

The heat and humidity will build up across the region this afternoon, but there isn't much of a "trigger" to spark off "wide-spread" afternoon/evening storms, just hit or miss or pop-up storms. That feature should arrive Saturday afternoon/evening in the form of a vigorous cold front. The dynamics aren't quite as "good" here (as compared to OH/KY) for widespread severe weather, but some wind damage and hail in some locations look possible as these storms should develop into a squall line from midday across S.E.

Warming Up As We Head Into The Weekend

The heat and humidity will start to build today and into the weekend as highs climb into the mid-upper 80s the next few days. There will only be a few hit or miss pop-up storms this afternoon (mainly for the Plateau and Mountains), but they will be more likely late day Saturday as a cold front drops South out of Kentucky. Saturday's storms could contain some strong, damaging wind gusts and some small hail, so keep it tuned to the 6 Storm Team this weekend.

A Summer Feel

Partly Cloudy tonight with some patchy fog late tonight into early tomorrow. Look for a mixture of clouds and sun on your Friday. It will be quite warm and muggy as temperatures reach the 80's Most of the area will remain dry, but there is a SLIGHT chance of a late day shower or thundershower. The warm muggy weather will stick around on Saturday as temperatures will once again reach the 80's. As a cool front heads south, look for Scattered Showers and Storms to develop later Saturday into Saturday Night. We will be watching this system as some of the storms may become strong.

Warmer For The End Of The Week

Today will be a little quieter than Wednesday. We will start with a little bit of patchy fog, but it will burn off quickly leaving a mix of sun and clouds with mainly dry conditions for the afternoon (there may be a few pop-up, hit or miss storms along the Plateau late day). Friday is shaping up to be warm and dry with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 range.

Warmer Days Ahead

Look for patchy fog, dense in places, late tonight into tomorrow morning. Tomorrow will start cloudy but we should at least see some sun by the afternoon. Most of the area will be dry except for a very slight chance of a stray shower over the higher elevations. Look for a summer feel by Friday and Saturday as temperatures will rise into the 80's. The next chance of Showers and Storms looks like it will arrive very late Saturday and could continue into Sunday.

Still Some More Rain Expected Today

We did see a few isolated areas of heavy rainfall overnight (2"+) across portions of Downtown and East Knoxville with some isolated flooding and there will be a few more scattered showers/storms today, but "widespread" flooding is NOT anticipated. The rain threat tapers off later today and we will dry out overnight. Cooler and drier air filters in and some patchy fog could form, but we will be dry Thursday with a mix of sun and clouds.

Some Lingering Rain Chances Today

We had some much needed rainfall overnight (although some areas saw too much too fast leading to some isolated flooding) and it looks like there will be a little more today. The scattered shower/storm chances are about 60% for today and the better opportunity will be early (from sunrise to early afternoon). We will clear out and cool down overnight and some sunshine will return for Thursday.

A Chance Of Rain

As a cool front heads southward, look for a good chance for Showers and even a Thunderstorm tonight into Wednesday morning. Most of the Rain should be gone by later Wednesday. Partly Cloudy warm weather will return Thursday & Friday, although there is still a SLIGHT chance of a stray Thundershower Thursday. Another front will bring the chance of Showers and Storms back to our area later Saturday into Sunday.

Scattered Storms Expected Today

It will remain variably cloudy, warm and humid this afternoon with highs in the lower 80s. We will see scattered storms pop up through the afternoon hours with the better chances arriving this evening/tonight. Some of the storms could contain heavy rain and gusty winds, so we will be watching them carefully. A cold front slides just South of the region overnight before stalling, so there will be some additional rain chances for Wednesday afternoon, especially South of I-40.

Occasional Showers and Storms

Scattered showers are possible again late tonight into tomorrow
morning. A cold front will be slowly moving our way the next few days.
It will not rain all day tomorrow, but there is a good chance we will
see another line of Showers and Storms move through our area again
tomorrow afternoon and evening. Occasional Showers and Storms will
continue Tuesday Night into Wednesday. Dry weather should return by late week.

Warm Holiday Weather

Memorial Day is known as the "Unofficial start of Summer"...and it will feel like it today...warm and humid with  a  chance for a few pop-up afternoon/evening storms (better opportunity over the higher elevations). Don't cancel your outdoor plans, but just know that you might see one late day. There will be a better chance area-wide for showers/storms Tuesday into Wednesday, then we should dry out towards the end of the week.

A Few Storms Are Possible

Mostly clear and not as cool tonight. Becoming partly cloudy and warm on your Memorial Day as temperatures will reach the 80's. Most of the area will see a dry day, but  we may see a few scattered storms develop later in the day.  As a stronger front moves our way, look for a good chance of showers and thunderstorms to develop later Tuesday and continue into Tuesday Night. Dry weather should return again by mid to late week.

Nice Weather For The Holiday Weekend

We will enjoy plenty of sun today as temperatures warm into the 80's. It will not be as cool tonight. Monday (Memorial Day) we will see a Partly Cloudy sky with temperatures in the 80's. There is a SLIGHT Chance of a Thundershower Monday, mainly across the Plateau but most of  us will remain dry on Memorial Day. The next good chance for some showers and storms will come our way later Tuesday and Tuesday Night.

Nice Weather For The Holiday Weekend

After some morning clouds, we will enjoy sunshine today along with lower humidity. Clear and on the cool side tonight. Mostly Sunny and warmer tomorrow as highs will reach the 80's. Partly Cloudy on Monday (Memorial Day) with Warm temperatures in the 80's. Our next chance for scattered showers and Thunderstorms should come our way by later Tuesday or Wednesday.

A Very Warm Weekend

Just a slim chance of a shower remains in the forecast this evening with some clouds hanging around. We weak front slides through the northeast part of the viewing area early Saturday bringing the chance of a few scattered showers.   Once that early rain threat ends, the rest of the weekend should be warm and dry with a mostly sunny sky.  Some areas will reach the middle 80's on Memorial Day.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible again late Tuesday or Wednesday.

Nice Days Ahead

Partly Cloudy and warm today. As a Warm front moves north through the valley, we may see a few scattered afternoon and evening Showers or Thundershowers, but not everyone will see rain.  Another disturbance will bring clouds tonight into early tomorrow along with a slight chance of a shower. Then High pressure will bring sunshine back during the day tomorrow. High pressure will bring plenty of sunshine for Sunday and Monday as temperatures warm into the 80's.

A Comfortable Night

Another nice night is on tap although it won't be quite as cool as last night. A few clouds will help keep low temperatures in the 50's by sunrise. As a warm front moves up the valley from the south a few clouds along with a few scattered storms are possible, especially by Friday afternoon. High pressure builds back in for the weekend with plenty of sunshine and warmer air all the way through the Memorial Day Holiday.

Warmer Days Ahead

Mostly Sunny and comfortable today, although some mid and high level clouds will fade the sun somewhat by later in the day. Look for warmer temperatures tonight.. A weak disturbance may bring a few Scattered Showers or Thundershowers to parts of the area by Friday afternoon and evening.High pressure will bring us GREAT weather for the Memorial Day Holiday weekend. Expect plenty of sunshine Saturday through Monday. Temperatures will warm into the 80's while nights will hold in the 50's.

Another Beautiful Night

High pressure keeps the clouds away tonight so plan on a bright moon with great visibility. Temperatures could be 10 degrees below average by sunrise Thursday morning.  After a cool start most of Thursday looks dry with just a slim chance of an isolated thunderstorm.  A few scattered storms are possible Friday afternoon but not much rain is expected.  High pressure wins out this weekend with plenty of sunshine expected along with temperatures in the 80's.

Rain Chances Limited The Rest Of The Week

Today is shaping up to be a "Picture Perfect" day with lower humidity values, a mostly sunny sky and highs in the low-mid 70s. It will get a little warmer and a little more sticky Thursday and Friday and there will be a very slight chance for a few isolated hit or miss afternoon storms each day (but don't cancel you outdoor plans). The upcoming Holiday weekend looks very nice with lots of sunshine, just a few clouds and highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s.

Cooler And Calmer Tonight

The severe thunderstorms that rolled through south of Knoxville this afternoon have moved out of the region.  The cold front that triggered the storms continues to push south allowing much cooler and drier air to flow into the valley overnight.  High pressure brings more sunshine Wednesday followed by small chances of showers and storms Thursday and Friday. Right now, the Memorial Day holiday weekend forecast still looks dry.

A Gusty Wind At Times Today

Hold onto your hats today as we will see a strong West wind around 15-25mph with gusts at times near 40mph (stronger for the higher elevations). There will also be a chance for some scattered showers/storms through the afternoon and evening hours. The least chances will be along the Plateau (20%), followed by the Valley (40%) and the best opportunity will be in the Mountains (60%) today. Wednesday will see a return to more sunshine and dry conditions, but it will remain a little breezy at times.
