The Weekend Starts Dry

A few thin clouds overhead tonight but some patchy fog and scattered frost are still possible toward sunrise. Clouds thicken up during the day but Saturday still looks dry. Low pressure to our south will bring some showers to the region late tomorrow night and part of Sunday. The work week should start dry with much colder air possible by Thanksgiving.
"50/50" Weekend For Outdoor Plans

The early morning fog has burned off and now we should see a lot of sunshine for the afternoon and highs in the upper 50s to near 60 range. We will start out our Saturday with some sunshine as well, but the clouds will thicken up through the day. "Daylight" hours should remain dry, but rain chances go up Saturday night into Sunday (take the rain gear to the Vols game just to be safe). Sunday will looks to be a cool, damp, raw day with periods of rain and highs only in the 50s. Looking ahead to a shortened work-week for many, we could see a "significant" cool down for Thanksgiving Day itselaf and for the brave shoppers on Friday...stay tuned!

We will start out this Friday with some patchy dense fog, so be careful during the morning commute. It will burn off around 10am leaving a lot of sunshine for the afternoon and highs near 60. We will start out our Saturday with some sunshine as well, but the clouds will thicken up through the day. "Daylight" hours should remain dry, but rain chances go up Saturday night into Sunday (take the rain gear to the Vols game just to be safe). Sunday will be a cool, damp, raw day with periods of rain and highs only in the 50s.

A Clear And Cold Night

High pressure continues to push clouds out of the area providing a mostly clear sky overnight. Areas of patchy fog and frost are possible by Friday morning. Plenty of sun hangs on Friday before clouds begin to increase across east Tennessee on Saturday. Right now it looks like rain chances will hold off until later Saturday evening. You might want to take the poncho to the Vols game just to be safe. A few showers and cooler air returns Sunday.

The morning clouds will be slow to clear out this afternoon, but I do expect some sunshine today. Temperatures will be right about where we should be this time of year, in the upper 50s to near 60 range. It will clear out tonight with lows in the mid-upper 30s and we will see another dry, quiet and sunny day Friday (lower 60s). Clouds return through the day Saturday with spotty rain chances returning late Saturday night into Sunday.

Cloudy, Cooler With Spotty Rain

Clouds will linger across much of East Tennessee this afternoon with spotty rain chances. The Plateau should only see around 10%-20% coverage of rain while the Valley is around 40%-50% coverage, but the most likely area to see rain is the Mountains with 70% coverage. Regardless, it will not be a continuous, all day rain, there will be breaks at times. All this should move out overnight with drier conditions for Thursday through Saturday.

Some Lingering Rain Chances Today

The slow moving cold front continues to move eastward across East Tennessee today, but unlike yesterday where the Plateau had the best opportunity for rain, today it is on the East side from Knoxville to the Smokies. The Plateau should only see around 20%-30% coverage of rain while the Valley is around 40%-50% coverage, but the most likely area to see rain is the Mountains with 70% coverage. Regardless, it will not be a continuous, all day rain, there will be breaks at times. All this should move out overnight with drier conditions for Thursday.

Only A Few Scattered Showers

A mostly cloudy sky remains overhead tonight with a few sprinkles or patchy light showers posssible. Wednesday looks a little unsettled and cooler with a few random light showers possible as well. High pressure works back in on Thursday pushing most of the clouds out by afternoon. Plan on a mostly sunny Friday before rain chances increase late in the weekend.
