Unsettled By The Holiday Weekend
Submitted by Ken Weathers on July 1, 2009 - 3:19am.
A relatively tranquil weather pattern will stick around through Friday with lower relative humidity values, a mix of sun and clouds, only spotty storm chances and seasonable temperatures in the mid 80s. The better opportunity for wet weather appears to move in just in time for the Holiday Weekend. There will be a "slight chance" for a few afternoon storms on Saturday with rain/storms looking more likely for Sunday. We will keep a close eye on the rain chances as we know many people will be trying to make outdoor plans.

July 4th.
I am 13 years old. I am scared to death it will storm while we are watching fireworks. Should we still keep our plans for a festivity?

Thanks a lot for the all-clear report last night, Ken! Based on the clear sky and your 11:00 p.m. report (showing no storms headed our way), I confidently left the top down on my Miata. Fortunately, I was still up at 3:00 a.m. when I heard the rumbles of thunder and the wind whipping around. I got out to the car just in time to keep it from getting drenched! Just kidding; I know you're not responsible for the weather, you just report it.
